Announcements

In January the Curry Stone Foundation and Advisors met, reviewed 400 nominations, and selected 25 for dossier development and jury presentation.
The jury will convene in New York City on June 15th to recommend a Grand Prize and two additional prize winners.
Winners will be announced at the Harvard Graduate School of Design on November15th. This Curry Stone Design Festival will commence with an award ceremony and continue the following day with seminars led by the 2012 Curry Stone Design Prize winners and design industry leaders.

Bend, OR (October 4, 2011)—The 2011 Curry Stone Design Prize Winners were announced today with an official presentation ceremony to follow on November 7th at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Hsieh Ying-Chun is the Grand Prize Winner; he will receive $100,000 from the foundation with no strings attached. Hsieh is a leading Taiwanese architect who for over a decade has deployed his talents in rural areas decimated by natural disaster.

Two Winner Prizes for: Collective Urban Architecture and Community Solutions Through Mobile Technology

NEW YORK, NY (April 25, 2011)

The Curry Stone Design Prize panel of advisors selected the 2011 jury, that will convene Friday, June 17, 2011 in New York. The jury will be composed of Clifford Curry, co-founder of the Prize, Alejandro Echeverri, Medellin's former director of urban projects and a CSDP winner, Mohsen Mostafavi, Dean of Harvard Graduate School of Design, and Cynthia Smith, Curator of Socially Responsible Design at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.

NEW YORK, NY (October 13, 2010) — Feminine hygiene products made from locally-sourced banana leaf fiber in Rwanda; bicycle-powered agricultural machines in Guatemala; and inner city public housing in Chile are the three winners of the 2010 Curry Stone Design Prize.
